Geotechnical

Drash provides geotechnical engineering and consulting services to both public and private sectors. Our team methodically plans programs and protocols for field activities, laboratory testing and engineering analysis and recommendations specific to each project’s needs and requirements. Using a team approach with the owner and any other design professionals and the general contractor, we provide sensible and practical approaches and solutions that are not only technically sound, but professionally presented while being sensitive to the project budget and schedule. Our experience in providing geotechnical services for any type of project includes: development of commercial, governmental and industrial projects for buildings, roads, highways, water and wastewater; electrical transmission lines and substations; pipelines for water, oil and gas; and airports and trucking facilities. Our staff members discuss the individual project scope and requirements with the client to determine what geotechnical information are needed to proceed. In addition to new scope elements, this may include reviewing and confirming previously collected geotechnical data to provide specific design information for the current project and identifying a change of conditions for the general contractor or a constructability limitation not previously identified. Drash then develops a complete scope of work to provide geotechnical information required. Our project approach depends on the type of project, what information needs to be submitted and the urgency that the information is needed. We will perform whatever field services are required, typically soil borings; collection of soil specimens; laboratory for testing and evaluation; performance of engineering calculations based on the field and laboratory data collected and observed; discussion of the findings with the client; and preparation of a report or letter for submittal.
